You put a lot of work into your email marketing. Are you getting everything you can out of it? Here’s a simple response-boosting technique that most marketers overlook:
Resend your email to the people who didn’t open it the first time.
Best practices when using this technique include:
• Wait 4 to 6 days before sending the second email
• Change the subject line, and perhaps a bit of the content
• Send on a different day of the week, and a different time of the day
• Email only those folks who did not open the original email
Most email service providers make it easy to create a “did not open” file for this purpose. Give it a try, and you may find that you boost your open rate by 5%, 10% or more – all for very little effort.
