Next month’s Direct Gardening Association conference promises to be one of the best in years. Among the programs on the docket are:
• Bruce Butterfield, Market Research Director of the National Gardening Association, on how gardeners’ attitudes and motivations are shifting
• Kevin Hillstrom of Mine That Data on how to adapt your marketing for successive generations of gardeners
• Renowned nurseryman Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery on building customer loyalty
• An ice cream breakfast (!), with presentations by Ben & Jerry’s on what they know best: branding, marketing and developing passionate employees
• A marketing team from King Arthur flour on the exceptional results from their social media campaigns
• A tour of Gardener’s Supply’s operations and gardens, ending with a reception at the nearby Intervale Barn
• Plus round tables, networking opportunities, and more
The DGA is the only trade organization for garden catalogers and online merchants, and companies selling products and services to them. I always find the industry-specific information and networking at DGA conferences hugely valuable, and expect you will too. For more information and to register, visit the Direct Gardening Association website. I hope to see you there!
