BeautyChoice.com, an Internet Retailer Hot 100 Retail Website for 2011, has found a creative way to build their web traffic. Starting a couple years ago, BeautyChoice.com sought out young women makeup artists and hair stylists who had already gained a following on YouTube. BeautyChoice.com contracted with 20 of them to create two to four videos per month featuring Beauty Choice products.
According to Internet Retailer magazine, traffic to the Beauty Choice website increased 160% in the past year, with 30% of the traffic coming from YouTube, and another 23% coming from customers who typed in the sites’ URL.
Search BeautyChoice.com on YouTube, and you’ll find 1,080 results. Sort by the number of views, and you’ll find 19 that have received more than 500,000 views each. Not bad!
