Few things are as frustrating – or as important – as figuring out when you should consider new technological solutions for your business, which providers you should consider, and what you should ultimately choose. That’s why I was thrilled to discover a resource specifically for businesspeople suffering from new technology befuddlement.
At the Spring NEMOA conference, Bernardine Wu of Fit for Commerce and Steve Jones of Home Bistro (which served as the case study) gave a fantastic presentation on how to know when you need new technology, and how to go about selecting a technology provider.
Fit for Commerce helps businesses articulate their technology needs, benchmark against ecommerce best practices, and find the “best fit” solutions. Not only do they offer consulting services, but their website provides paid subscribers with a comprehensive database of service providers, and tools for helping to choose among them. Some useful free information is available in the Resources section of their website, too.
